City women flock to CWA for scones and so much more!

One of the fastest growing branches of the Country Women's Association of Victoria Inc. (CWA) is in the heart of Melbourne, proof that Australia's largest membership group for women is keeping pace with the times.

New incoming President of CWA Bayside, businesswoman Rebekah Kittl says the membership and interests of local CWA members has diversified from the traditional idea of CWA as synonymous with baking scones:

"Yes, we still make the best scones and jam, but CWA is keeping pace with the times and in Bayside we are seeing demand for evening meetings from a new generation of women, with broad interests, working commitments and family structures who can't attend meetings during the day.”

The Bayside branch has a number of well-supported interest groups that include craft, gardening, cooking and fundraising.

CWA Bayside evening branch is very active in pursuing their goals to contribute to those in need in our local community by fundraising and running events for a number of Local, State and International charities and projects including HeartKids, Chernobyl, bushfire and flood ongoing support, South East Asia support for women and children, crisis relief to name a few.

The branch meets the second Thursday of every month at Hampton Senior Citizens Hall, 14 Service Street, Hampton at 7.15pm. Visitors are most welcome.
